Quiet, some call it wilderness, is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit, and as vital to our lives as water and good bread (Edward Abbey). Christ himself often withdrew to lonely places and prayed (Luke 5:16). We need time and space to reconnected, be reminded of who we are and to gain new perspective regarding how to engage the noise, responsibilities and relationships of our lives. There comes a time when we need to get away, a respite from normal life. A time to disconnect from technology, to get lost in the wilderness of solitude and to find peace once again.
